We are an environmentally friendly lawn service and water conservation company. We care about our planet and utilize only products and services that are effective yet safe and eco-friendly. We have partnered with the Carbon Earth company, which produces a sustainable fertilizer. This particular fertilizer builds soil organic carbon without any harmful chemicals that could potentially harm the environment. Their products utilize slow-release technology to deliver soil with higher organic carbon, and a greater soil surface area.

We understand that maintaining and caring for your lawn not only enhances its color, and thickness but helps promote sustainability and overall appeal. In order to develop and maintain a healthy, vibrant lawn, we believe it is essential to follow an annual lawn care program. Specifically, one that promotes deep root growth fights weeds, provides proper proportions of nutrients, and addresses insect infestations and lawn diseases.

We offer three lawn care programs designed explicitly for fescue grass and a fourth lawn care program for our residents with bermudagrass. With all four of our programs, your lawn will be carefully inspected by one of our knowledgeable and trained technicians on an annual basis. Each program runs from early spring to early winter and consists of planned, comprehensive, timely scheduled visits of your property for treatments of needed materials at the proper rates. Wake Up Your Dull, Unhealthy Lawn With Bio Turf’s Aeration Process

Aeration includes the removal of small plugs of soil so that your grass can breathe. Heavy Overseeding for Fescue Lawns

Overseeding is often done alongside core aeration to improve the thickness and strength of your fescue lawn. Soil compaction can severely stress and thin your grass. This becomes an open invitation for pests and weeds to take over. Overseeding is the practice of establishing new grass to fill in thin patches and boost your lawn’s resistance to pests, diseases, weeds, and even drought. Conserve Water With Bio Turf’s Irrigation System

Installation of the Irrigation System
An irrigation system’s installation begins with the overall design of the system, placement of the pipes, sprinkler heads, valves, and control panel. Bio Turf works alongside the homeowner, contractor or landscaper to bring the project to life while maintaining an emphasis on conserving our natural resource (water). With this in mind, we focus on new technology like Smart control panels. These panels automatically adjust water scheduling according to information received from local weather stations. That information gathered will prompt the control panel to suspend or change watering based on temperature, predicted, or actual rainfall. We can also customize your irrigation system with pressure regulated rotors, sprays, valves with flow control, and MP Rotator nozzles to help you save even more water. Our irrigation system will help save you time, money, and water!

Irrigation Start-Up
Our technicians will check all the components of your system to ensure it is fully functional for the watering season. Our start-up service includes:

• Reattaching the backflow and pressurizing the system
• Inspecting the mainline and lateral lines for any leaks
• Turning on each zone to evaluate whether adjustments or repairs are needed
• Adjusting the sprinkler heads as needed for optimal coverage
• Checking the rain sensor to make sure it is operational
• Programming the controller for the current watering requirements
• If repairs are needed, they are made at the rate of $75.00 per hour

Toward the end of winter, the Bio Turf team will send you an email with your scheduled date for the spring start-up. If you would like your system started by a specific date, we recommend that you contact us in advance.

Winterization for Your Irrigation System
Although we typically enjoy mild winters here in Raleigh, North Carolina, we occasionally experience freezing temperatures. Consequently, your irrigation system must be shut down to safeguard against major freeze damage. Our winterization service includes:

• Depressurizing and draining the irrigation water source
• Blowing any residual water out of the lines for each zone using compressed air
• Removing the backflow for storage
• Deactivating the controller

Backflow Prevention and Installation

The purpose of the backflow device is to ensure that your domestic drinking water does not become contaminated with lawn irrigation water. Most city and town water departments in the Raleigh market mandate that backflow preventers are installed on every water line to an underground lawn irrigation system and tested annually.
